i'm using a 78M05 series of the voltage regulator. that means 5V 500mA output. I think it will work better if i use the 7805 series instead. 5V 1A output. it should make do with a lower input.
major turnoff after i got a hardon(yeh, from getting it to work). tomorrow then. or maybe some other day.

ipods detect battery levels via current difference between source and batt.
SE phones cannot charge on low currents.
